About Yellow Diamonds

What Is A Yellow Diamond?
Bursting like a sunrise, a yellow diamond lights up any engagement ring. Yellow diamonds occur more often in nature than blue, pink, and green diamonds, but still make up a small fraction of naturally occurring diamonds. White diamonds are made exclusively of carbon atoms but when nitrogen enters a diamond’s crystal structure, that diamond becomes yellow. A lab-grown yellow diamond is made using the same process: adding nitrogen to the diamond’s crystal structure. Yellow diamonds come in a wide array of colors and founder and designer Melanie Casey carefully sources our collection for unique color and exceptional quality, often seeking out soft butter yellows and deep golden yellows for her designs. You can find our collection of engagement rings centering a yellow diamond in our Yellow Diamond Collection. While the collection is always changing, Melanie has a few favorite design elements she loves to incorporate into the design of a yellow diamond engagement ring. Stay tuned to learn more!
Add a Diamond Horizon
More than one of Melanie’s engagement ring designs is inspired by the beauty of the sun. While sun-inspired rings allow any focal stone to radiate, a yellow diamond ring captures sunshine in the truest sense. A yellow diamond encapsulates the sun, sparkling with golden rays. Melanie has designed multiple diamond horizons: a vertical spread of accent diamonds that appear to emit from the focal stone. The Sunlit Ring features two pear cut diamonds, one extending from either side of the focal. The pear cut diamonds are inlaid into a textured triangular taper that includes three more small round cut accent diamonds at each of the taper’s corners. From a top-down view, the pear cut diamonds appear to extend from the focal stone while from a profile view, the focal stone rises above the lower-set pear cut diamonds. With a yellow diamond focal, the Sunlit Ring brings warm morning light to each new day.

Delicate Details
A yellow diamond engagement ring exhibits a subtler sparkle than other colored diamond engagement rings, offering a light tone with a touch of warmth. A yellow diamond is almost delicate in its coloring and pairs well with intricate and delicate details that mirror this soft pop of color. Designer Melanie Casey’s delicate details appear in both diamond accents and metalwork, coming to life in the form of dynamic clusters, carefully contoured prongs, slender bands, and intricate side stones. The Distance Ring features accent diamonds incrementally spaced along a round band. The band almost disappears in the wake of the accent diamonds, creating the illusion of diamonds suspended in orbit around your finger. This yellow diamond Distance Ring centers a light butter yellow diamond that adds a sunny glow to the delicate details that define this yellow diamond ring.
Hidden Diamonds
Adding hidden diamonds to the setting of an engagement ring is one of designer Melanie Casey’s signature moves. Hidden diamonds bring radiance to an often overlooked angle, making for a more complex composition and adding a secret sparkle. Hidden diamonds bring new life to an engagement ring’s structure, climbing prongs, resting tucked between prongs, or accenting the basket that wraps around the ring. In the case of the Touchpoints Ring, accent diamonds rest like a hidden halo around the girdle of the diamond. From a top-down view, this engagement ring appears to be a classic solitaire, yet from the side, it’s clear that there is more to this design than meets the eye. Melanie loves centering a yellow diamond amid hidden diamonds because of this combination’s subtle contrast.

One of a Kind
It’s no secret that colored diamonds are inspiring, and yellow diamonds are no exception. A colored diamond is often the catalyst behind Melanie’s one of a kind engagement rings. Rather than set the diamond in a beloved design, innovation strikes and she designs something completely new! But Melanie’s one of a kind colored diamond engagement rings all have one thing in common: they’re unlike anything else in the collection. The Nebula Ring with a 0.76ct. natural yellow diamond features a cluster of diamonds bursting from the colored focal stone like stardust. Each accent diamond is set at a different height, bringing dimension to every angle. These engagement rings are extremely limited edition because they’re completely unique. While the Nebula Ring is no longer available, if you sign up for our email list, you can keep a close eye on new design drops featuring one of a kind engagement rings! You’ll get exclusive access to a preview before every Friday drop.
