Wedding Bands for Sapphire Engagement Rings
What Color is Sapphire?

Choosing a wedding band for your sapphire ring is only the second hardest decision after choosing your sapphire engagement ring! We’re only mostly kidding, but it is a big decision and one we’re happy to help you with. This guide will give you some ideas and inspiration for selecting wedding bands that pair well with sapphire engagement rings from designer Melanie Casey.

A Bright & Brilliant Diamond Wedding Band
It’s no surprise that contrast creates a striking composition! A white diamond wedding band makes a colorful sapphire pop, especially if the sapphire is a deep blue sapphire or green sapphire. Just like with a diamond and sapphire engagement ring, a diamond and sapphire wedding ring stack is sure to turn heads with equal parts brilliant sparkle and deep luster.

Soft & Luminous Rose Cut Wedding Bands
A rose cut diamond, like a sapphire engagement ring, sparkles a little differently than brilliant cut diamonds. The rose cut diamond was designed to refract candlelight with wide, open facets that give this diamond cut a luminous glow rather than a bright sparkle. This diamond cut pairs well with a sapphire engagement ring because they both have a deeper, more subtle sparkle. In the pairing shown here, a green sapphire Evenfall Ring is styled alongside the Plenilune Band. Both the green sapphire and the rose cut diamonds catch the light softly, appearing to glow.

Make It Metal
Choosing a wedding band crafted entirely of metal also creates contrast between a sapphire ring and the wedding band you pair it with. Depending on the metal that you choose, a metal wedding band can draw out the warm or cool tones of a sapphire engagement ring. A yellow gold wedding band will cause a sapphire ring to appear warmer, while a white gold or platinum wedding band will make a sapphire ring appear cooler. You can either maximize the warmth or coolness of a sapphire or create contrast with your choice of metal.

Consider the Set
While there are some decisions you can make based on just the sapphire itself, you definitely want to consider the style of your sapphire engagement ring when selecting a wedding band. If your sapphire ring is more contemporary, if it has a wide band or bezel setting for instance, then you may want to select a wedding band to match! Maybe something thick like the Amplify Band or with plenty of diamond sparkle like the Attune Band. On the other hand, if you have a more vintage style engagement ring, with softer or more traditional details, then an antique-inspired wedding band will suit the design better. Consider something classic like a Pairing Band or something intricate like the Lace Edge Ring.

No matter what you decide, there are pairings to suit any style in the wedding band collection from designer Melanie Casey.

TLDR:
- Many wedding bands look great with sapphire engagement rings
- Diamond wedding bands add contrast and make the color pop
- Rose cut diamonds match the softer sparkle of a sapphire engagement ring
- A metal wedding band adds warmth or coolness to a sapphire ring
- Choose a wedding band that suits the style of your sapphire engagement ring
