Designer Melanie Casey often works with clients to design custom engagement rings and custom wedding bands that incorporate changes into our existing designs. Maybe you love two designs and want to combine your favorite elements into a custom engagement ring. Maybe you love our shadow wedding band collection, but have a non-Melanie Casey engagement ring to pair with your custom wedding band. Maybe you are looking for a unique focal sapphire to set into your favorite design, or want to exchange the diamonds in a hidden halo engagement ring for your birthstone. All of these examples and more are possible with our custom jewelry.
Who Brings Your Custom Piece to Life?
Creating a piece of custom jewelry requires many hands at Melanie Casey, from the customer care team who helps place your order to the CAD team who builds your design, to the jeweler who sets your stones! Please note that a non-refundable $250 customization fee paid upfront allows us to bring your vision to life. Even if you select multiple customization options from the list below, you will only pay one flat $250 fee per design.

Customization Has Limits
Here are some things we will not do in the custom design process.
- We will not copy another designer's work.
- We will not create a brand new design from a piece you've drawn yourself (unless it's a combination of designs in our collection!). If you'd like to contribute your ideas to our collection, we often design new pieces together with your input on social media! Tune in every Tuesday on YouTube Live for our Tuesday Morning Meeting.
- We will not mix metals in the same piece. For example, we won't add a white gold head to a yellow gold band - the process of doing this can result in a piece that is less structurally sound than our standards demand.

What's Next?
1. Reach out to our customer care team to receive a link to pay your nonrefundable $250 custom fee. The $250 customization fee includes one line drawing render of your piece upon request.
2. Our customer care team will reach out once the fee has been paid to get the details required to start your custom order.
3. You can pay an additional $250 for a full CAD rendering of your design. We only recommend requesting a CAD rendering if you have solidified the final design and want to see an approximation of what it would look like in real life.
4. Once you approve the design, we will send an invoice including any price changes based on your requested stone or band thickness change.
5. All customized pieces, from stone changes to prong changes and beyond, are final sale.
Interested in a fully bespoke engagement ring or wedding band design project? Designer Melanie Casey occasionally accepts fully custom projects, with a $30,000 starting budget for the piece. We require a $6,000 deposit to begin the design work and stone sourcing, and Melanie will work closely with you to bring your vision to life.
