What a time we are living in. I wanted to reach out with an update for you about how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting our operations here at Melanie Casey.
I want to be completely transparent with you: this is a scary time to be operating a small business. We want to continue to be able to bring you beautiful things. Here is how we are making that happen:
- My first priority is the safety of our team, including financial safety. I am committed to paying their wages, fully, for as long as I possibly can. Our entire team has the option to work from home if and when they need to, even our jewelers. I am also committed to keeping our workspace sanitary for those still in the studio, and have implemented additional cleaning processes to make sure we are safe here.
- Much of our staff already works remotely, so their work is not interrupted unless they have families to care for. Our client services department continues to be available to answer all of your inquiries via email, chat, and phone. They are also here and ready to help address any potential shipping interruptions that may come.
- As of today, shipping jewelry is still running smoothly and will be for the foreseeable future. I will certainly update you if this changes.
- We ask you to wait to send in your jewelry needing repairs or resizes until after this pandemic is over. Please also hold onto your returns. With many of us working from home, we cannot guarantee safe receipt of your valuable packages. Our normal 14-day return window and 30-day resize window are being extended for the duration of this crisis. We will let you know as soon as we are able to accept these requests again.
All small businesses are hurting at the moment. Your continued support via orders is incredibly appreciated, and will allow us to keep this place up and running. We will continue to work hard because we know that sometimes the smallest things can bring light and joy to an otherwise dark time.
We will continue posting on social media and sending you emails to show you our pieces. (I know a distraction is sometimes welcome in times like these!) We are more appreciative of you, our clients, than we have ever been. Thank you to those who have reached out with worry for our MC family - your concern is so kind. We are strong, and we will get through this together.
